New Baritone scale Fluke! With the addition of a longer neck, we now offer a Fluke with DGBE baritone tuning. At a scale of 18.5", and an overall length 1 1/2" longer than the tenor, tuning is the same as the top four strings of a guitar. Using the same iconic body as the Fluke, its more compact and travel friendly than a traditional Baritone. Comes with a hardwood 19 fret fingerboard and the same top wood, tuner, pickup and custom options available on all Flukes.

The Firefly family of banjos and banjo ukuleles keeps growing!  The newest addition is the extended 21.5” scale length 5-string banjo on the far right.  At two inches longer than our existing 19.5” scale, this makes it more comfortable for players who are familiar with a full size banjo, but with the advantages of our lightweight construction.  With an overall length of 30” this 5-string banjo is still a very travel friendly option.

Celebrating 25 Years of Magic

Magic Fluke is awesome. We enjoy our cricket every day. Congrats on the 25-year anniversary!

— Dylan Farsworth

Congrats to a great company!  I am proud to own a mandolin and enjoy it along with my other instruments.

Congratulations on your 25th anniversary! Working with you and the flukes back in the day was one of the best experiences of my life. I bought my first uke on our honeymoon on Maui in 1997.  My wife bought me a green fluke a year or 2 later and we found Jim’s book on the Ukulele. I saw a leopard uke in the book, made a design on a sticker paper, took it to a class Jim was giving here at McCabes - and the rest is history.

I still play my flukes several times a week. I have about 6 or 7 of my own designs to choose from (thank you) when I play. They have always been the best ukuleles to play ! Thank you for enriching my life experience !

— Chris Stousland

Happy anniversary! We've been playing your instruments since 2001, if my math is correct. The Fluke and Flea have been faithful companions.

— Jeff Elbel

I love you guys. Have a great 25th. Keep on making great instruments and memories.

    Cricket Violin Sound Post Setting

The Cricket has a traditional sound post positioned just behind the treble foot of the bridge, visible through the bass side “C” hole. It is positioned and held in place by small dimples in both the top and back which fit the slightly conical ends of the soundpost. The post is set to be held firmly in place with no bridge or string tension on the top. It is unlikely but possible that the post becomes dislodged if the instrument is dropped or mishandled during shipping. In this case it will not be visible through the C hole and will be loose inside the instrument.
