I started playing banjo and quickly realized I far preferred the ukulele but still wanted a banjo sound. So I sold the banjo and did a lot of research into what sort of banjo uke to purchase. I'm so glad I chose the tenor firefly! It is lovely to behold, built beautifully, and most importantly, sounds fantastic. It's really lightweight and easy to play, and the folks at Magic Fluke created a special moon and stars design to decorate the rim. Also, I was concerned the Boulder gig bag wouldn't be protective enough, but Phyllis assured me it would suffice, and she was right! I can't recommend this instrument and company enough.

Most comfortable tenor banjo uke ever

Just about all of the tenor banjo ukes out there are heavy monstrosities with all these J hooks that dig into your arm and legs. So when I saw this new Tenor Firefly Banjo Uke design and just knew I had to order one. I was not disappointed. The sound is what you would expect if you have ever played one of the smaller Fireflys, though a bit warmer from the longer scale length. But the body is what makes this special. It is just so comfortable to hold, with nothing digging into your legs or arms. The neck was quite well done, with good fret ends, and a very flat fretboard with no high frets or buzzing. My one complaint would be that after the frets were leveled on this instrument there are about 6 or 8 or them that really should have been recrowned, as the tops of these were filed quite flat.
All in all a very nice instrument. I can’t imagine anyone looking for a tenor banjo uke not falling in love with it.
