Short Scale Electric Bass

other views:

The Magic Fluke Timber Bass sets a new standard for short scale, solid body, electric basses: versatile; portable; tuned to EADG and playable like a full size bass guitar. Sound is deep, rich and resonant due to its more traditional metal wound strings.

The Timber Bass is available both fretted and fret-less. The fretted fingerboard has both side and face dots. The fret-less has side dots only with no fret markers or face dots. Bolt on removable neck designed for easy adjustment or repair.

price: $549.00

i love my bass BUT i have one complaint... November 10, 2017
Reviewer: r.e.
I LOVE THIS BASS! really changed the word "play" for me. it's so fun! i’m small so standard bass guitars are huge for me. this guitar is perfect!

only complaint is there are 2 coin batteries used for the tuner. while that’s useful, pickups are routed through the batteries as well. meaning, if they die you can't use the bass at all. real bummer! if you ever leave your amp on - those pickups are active & your batteries are draining. inexpensive but i'm not trying to make that much trash in the world. been through 4 in a couple days.

want rechargeable batts but all the chargers out there are poorly made. i have a mechanical engineering friend hacking a small usb charger so that i can solve the this problem on my own. not every consumer is going to be as conscientious about the trash they make - and i think it’s a company/designer’s responsibility to build that thoughtfulness in there.

magic fluke was great to interact with though! i hope they hear this message. thanks!

Mind blowing... May 12, 2017

I'm not sure how this is supposed to be more fun.  True full bass in such a tiny package.  And the team who makes and sells these - just the best.  So happy there's a great sounding, tiny in size, huge in sound, made in America bass like this!  Minor nit - some buzzing on the D and G strings I need to figure out (and am confident can be addressed in the shop - not annoying enough to bum me out and frankly can't be heard when amplified so again, a minor nit...).

Can't stop playing - can't wipe the smile off my face!   If you're thinking about it - just so it.  It's amazing!!

Simple and oh so sweet ! November 11, 2015

I have been playing a Bass Ukulele for a couple of years now (you know the sort of thing, rubber strings !) and absolutely love the sound, but I've always wanted something just a little more fucused that can cut through a group of 30+ Ukuleleists.  Enter the the new Fluke bass, it hasn't replaced my other instrument, but for the more contemporary pop and rock numbers we do the Fluke sounds sublime and has become my weapon of choice.  It has a very tight and focused sound without loosing any of that beautiful deep sound associated with Bass Uke's.  It also works a treat through a couple of my bass effects pedals especially my compressor, distortion and reverb !  Five stars, absolutely fantastic.
